Minutes, hours, days have passed, an year .
A full circle of pain I am about to live again.
Like Fragrance of dried rose petals, gifted by you.
Your memories come to with tiptoe.
How can I break the bond, the soulful one we shared?
The little things that you did, still bind me to you.
My love!
You still bind me to you, my love!
Flashes of memories, hitting so hard.
Gorging away my peace.
The memory of your finger tips, tiptoeing to mine.
The soothing touch, entangling mine.
The warmth of your embrace, beneath the sheen of the cold moonlight.
The lovely words of never letting me go apart.
Rings in my ears, aching shrill noise.
Camouflaging the laughter all around.
When things are over for you, then why you still bind me to you?
Like cupid's invisible thread you make me cling to you.
Let me loose of this pain! Please I beg.
Life is no less than a living hell!
I close my eyes to run away from the fear, of being alone.
Makes me see your sparkling eyes.
Sleep is also cursed as it take me to you.
Your ignorance like nightmares makes me shout, late night.
Do you feel the same as I do? My love!
Like a wizard you have spellbound me in a dungeon.
Its floor bedded with roses, yet thorns to my feet.
You so far away from my reach.
Like a captive I am now.
Chained in your ignorant love.
An ever growing frustration its now, that how could you leave?
Were all the ties meant to be held by me? Not you?
With chords that can never be wearied.
You still bind me to you. My love!
Why do you still bind me to you? Let me loose now.
Or return back to me? I plead!

Hello.
ReplyDeleteTo have loved & then lost love...this is heart-wrenching.
You penned it beautifully, even if it is bittersweet.
Thanks for sharing Life.
I'm glad you made it for the last RFW of 2011!
Here's mine:
A Flower And A Tear
I'm working backwards through the link-list and have just finished reading your tribute to Miss Monroe.
ReplyDeleteYou wrote two poems! Wow! Both are about pain and suffering, each from a different point of view.
Yes, it's hard to forget emotions after a break-up; even after a long time. It is as if the memory of lost love settles in your muscles or somewhere in your body, like tennis elbow!
You have expressed this well.
Best wishes,
Anna

Hello Life. This poem is indeed deep and heart wrenching. I could hear her plea to break from this prison where she is 'chained in your ignorant love.'
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your beautiful poetry with us for this last challenge of 2011. I'm so glad you have two for us. In 2012 I hope you can post more often as your poetry is wonderful.
Happy New Year.
Denise
I feel like you just got hold of my heart and pulled it up into my throat. Painfully beautiful.

Powerful expression of love lost and the pain that binds. I have my own shorter version of this on my website at http://www.lindakatmarian.com/writers--readers/i-see-you-there.html
ReplyDeleteSince you're the poet, any critique would be most welcome.
Heartwrenching with its aching loss. Lovely.
