MoThEr

Seeded in your womb,
You went nine months of rib-cracking pain.
You pumped life into me,
Made me what I am today.

When I was four,
You slapped me for painting my nails.
But during my teenage,
You only brought me different colors of the same.

It was your shoulder, I cried,
When I went through a heart-break.
It was you,
Who even bared all my tantrums.

It was you,
Who taught me to cook.
It was you ,
Who taught me how to dress.

It was you,
Who cuddled me the cozy blanket in the cold winter night.
It was you only,
Who remained awake when my temperature ran high.

You are my first ever friend, I made.
You are even my first ever enemy,
When I was restricted.
You were the one, who even made sacrifices.

A guardian angel in disguise,
God sent you to me.
I still find solutions to my sorrows,
When I cling to you.

Like a teacher you taught me the right.
Like a friend I enjoyed my first movie with you.
Like a girlfriend we even talked nonsense.
A Mother who protected me always.

I know I have always been a tough child.
But, you always had a way with it.
The patience in you is infinite.
How can you be so tender, I wonder?

I may find friends, I may find that someone.
But no one ever has given love,
Like you do, Unconditionally!
For which you are the best, best you are MOTHER!

P.S.:This is a lil ode i make today to my mother. i may not be able to show this to her now. but surly one day i will. and moreover it is even my first poem of the year.....:)

  1. You're lucky that you could make friends with members of your family. I have always been unfortunate in this, and I can only imagine how much it would have helped to hear 'We are there' from those who mattered the most.. Sigh! Well.. to each his own..

neways, You must be on facebook.. and I have reasons to believe that you are a girl, so i understand you have reservations in sending me a req.. but as u wud know, i m little unabashed in this.. so tell me where can i find u on that stupid social networking site..

  2. Hello Life. Happy New Year!
There's no love like a mother's love. A mother has a heart of forgiveness & knows just what to do or say in our times of need. I lost my dad when I was still a young teenager, so my mom holds an extra special place in my heart because she's been both mom & dad to me.

I have learned that if someone cannot accept me for me, then they don't belong in my life. I have no time for foolishness & nonsense.

Time has a way of healing a wounded heart. Do not fret over your lost love. Love has a way of creeping back into your heart when you least expect it. Just keep your heart open to love.

Wishing you all the best for this New Year. May it be one filled with much happiness, laughter & of course love (smile).
    Lovely tribute to your mom.

  6. What a BEAUTIFUL first poem of the year - and how absolutely wonderful that it is about your mother. Speaking as a mom, I can tell you, if you do show it to her now, she may cry tears of joy, it will mean so much to her. Dont wait, okay? You can give her the gift of this beautiful tribute right now. Then let me know how she reacts, okay? Us moms love hearing this stuff!
